BEAUTY: Beauty Box Subscription Review with GLOSSYBOX

This month Glossybox are celebrating 5 years so when they approached me with the opportunity of reviewing their special edition box (which by the way was in collaboration with Rae Feather) they didn’t need to ask me twice! Just the thought of a monthly beauty subscription box gets me excited.

When the postman knocked with my Glossybox package I couldn’t wait to get inside it. The special edition Rae Feather box was monogrammed still in their usual pale pink but also with pale grey. Upon removing the lid the products were wrapped in pale pink paper which I carefully unwrapped with anticipation. So what’s inside??!!

I’ve learned that each month you receive at least one full size product in the box of approximately five beauty products. I was very happy to find a full size MUA eyeshadow palette which had a great mix of highly pigmented colours. Now I’m a great fan of the Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow palettes and these colours are really similar but do you know what’s great? They are a really compact size for traveling.  As you know I’ve just been to Ibiza and I took one of my Naked palettes with and it did take up quite a bit of space in my cosmetics bag. On my next travels or even overnight stay, I will be leaving it behind and instead taking this one. It’s super slim and much smaller and lighter weight and has natural shades, gold metalic shades and darker smoky shades so it will cover any eyeshadow eventuality. If you are thinking of purchasing this palette my one is ‘Hall of Fame’ which contains their most popular shades.  At £4 it’s a great addition to any make up bag.

Speaking of make up bags, there was an exclusively designed mini monogrammed pouchette. Rae Feather is the brand of the moment popularised by many celebrities. The pouchette has a water resistant lining so is great for stashing poolside essentials. You can get your own one for £20 and exclusively for Glossybox you can receive 10% off your first order by using code FIRST10 and it’s valid until 01.07.2017 how amazing!

I was really happy to see a cleansing brush from Spa to You. This is also a full size product. I’ve wanted to upgrade my figertips for cleansing for a while now and I’ve already tried the brush and I have to say it is fantastic and I won’t be looking back. It lathers my cleanser up so much more than my hands did meaning I need less product and I can really feel it not only deep cleaning my pores but also it’s gently exfoliating at the same time encouraging blood to the surface thus promoting cell renewal. The brush is made up of silky soft bristles and silicone cushions.  My skin felt so clean and smooth after. Rinse your cleanser off with a clean muslin cloth and follow with your regular toner and moisturiser routine.  Clean the brush and leave to dry. Again a really handy size for traveling and at £6.99 you could replace it at little cost when it gets tired without breaking the bank. Some brushes and cleansing systems are very costly so this is a great starting point.

Ive always seen Cowshed about but never tried anything so it was good to find a little Cowshed Invigorating Body Lotion in Wild Cow. It’s great to try products that are made with natural ingreedients and it smells divine with its essential oils and left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated thanks to the Shea and Cocoa butters. A full size bottle will set you back £20 and you will love it if you love fresh natural uplifting smells.

Lastly there was a Mudmasky Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask. This one is quite pricey at £53 for the full size so I was keen to try it. Again it uses all natural ingreetings and contains no parabens but still claims to do all of the following:

• PH-balancing

• Detoxify

• Refines & tightens pores

• Hydrates

• Brightens & smooths skin

The recomended use is once a week and even after one use my skin felt brighter and firmer.

I really want to thank Glossybox for letting me try a box. For under £10 and under a month it’s a great way to discover and explore new products and how exciting to see what will be inside each time.
