FASHION: Wedding & Occassion Dressing

I’ve attended some lovely weddings this last couple of weeks and whilst I share my outfits with you, I also wanted to share a couple of tips for when shopping for occassion wear.

First of all, don’t be afraid to buy a dress months in advance and put it away. I have always bought dresses that I fall in love with even if I have no planned occassion because I know that I will get around to wearing it one day. I love doing this because not only does it give me plenty of options when the occassion does arise, but I can almost garuntee that no one else will be wearing the same dress as you. I’ve been known to buy dresses and not wear them for a year or more! So never be afraid of buying it when you see it just because you have nowhere to go! I have so many women that always seem to ask my advice when it comes to weddings but I assure you, start shopping with this in mind and you will never be stuck for what to wear again!

I usually use the sales as a good excuse to stock my wardrobe with occasionwear. I’ve bagged a £600 dress in the sales for £200 before. Occassionwear can be pricey so use the sales to stock up. That said, you also don’t need to spend a fortune on your occasionwear either. I got so many comments when I wore this high street lace dress and it cost me £60.

I did accessorise it with Valentino shoes and bag but the dress itself was such great quality and didn’t cost the earth. You can shop my exact dress here or if you particulary like the lace and the pastel colours then find some inspo below where I’ve linked some similar options.

Here I wore a floor lenght kimono sleeve gown which was heavily embroided and so beaituful. Infact for what I paid for this dress you just wouldn’t believe the detail and quality that has gone into it so I stand by what I say, you don’t always need to spend the big bucks for the dress to look a million dollars.

Again, this dress got so many comments. As I bought this so far in advance in a sale I can’t link it as its not available anymore but I think the kimono sleeve style is a winner for any wedding guest and I’ve shared some kimono sleeve dresses below which you can click on.

I’ve also sourced some lovely trousers, jumpsuits and other dresses which I think are perfect for any wedding or christening, etc.

Enjoy looking through for inspiration. I’d love to know if you buy any! Leave me a comment! ♡
