Now I’m over the initial shock of Summer being over I am so excited to think about winter boots and cosy jumpers.
This time of year mornings become a little crisper (I’ve already had my heating on) so you reach for a sweater but by the time the afternoon comes the sun has made an appearance and you end up swealtering hot. This is why I prefer to start layering up rather than going straight in for a chunky knit. Layer a denim shirt over a tshirt and even a chunky cardigan over the shirt to keep you warm for the school run or whilst waiting for your train. It also seems far too soon to be bringing out the padded coats so if you go for a mid to light weight jacket you can always throw a scarf around it for the mornings.
That said, start investing in your knitwear now otherwise by the time you come to wear it all the best pieces will be sold out, trust me! I’ve been buying mine for a while now ready for winter. Here are some of my top picks:
It can be all too tempting in colder months to wear the same old jeans and jumper combo. Personally I think this get a bit boring and I love teaming a rollneck jumper with a feminine pleated skirt and a pair of boots. Dont forget you could also try a pretty tea dress with tights, a leather jacket and biker boots for a casual but girly tom boy look.I’m sure by now you have seen my new boots from Zara? I’m obsessed with them and they go with everything. Again, I’ve found some great ones for you below:
Lastly I just wanteed to mention knitted co-ords. Im obsessed! Theres something about wearing a knitted co-ord that feels really sophisticated. Again, you could team it with boots or sneakers, not to mention they are super comfy and cosy. Here is one I purchased recently:
TIP: Go one size up when buying knitwear or sweatshirts. I don’t enjoy a snug fit on my jumpers ot sweaters… I want them to cocoon my body and allow room for layers. I also find them more flattering as they become longline which hides the body’s natural lines so no-one can tell where your legs end and youre middle begins!
