Ok firstly I have to say please excuse my hair. It is long over due some attention but fear not, it will be getting just that very soon!
For my first official fashion post I thought I would share one of my ASOS purchases from February. As soon as I saw these textured stripes I fell in love. I have quite a collection of these longline waistcoats and this one has a boucle effect and I’m a sucker for a bit of boucle as it always looks very ‘chanel’. So here’s the fun bit, it’s actually a dress! A belted wrap dress to be precise so you get two looks for the price of one! It’s really flattering as a dress as the waist is really nipped in creating that hourglass shape. Just imagine it with those Chanel pearls layered over the top or a brooch! Dreamy!
I quite like using it as a waistcoat and have had quite a few comments since wearing it. I can tell I will be getting lots of use out of it for SS16 and can’t wait to wear it as a dress but for today I wanted something casual but smart for the school run and a day of nipping in and out doing various bits and bobs. So what better way than to team khaki and stripes (which by the way are white and dark blue), both super hot trends, together. I wore it with my ripped shoulder denim shirt also from ASOS which I love as it has a real ‘Street’ vibe. Its sold out now but I have listed a similar one for you. My black ripped jeans are from Topshop. I’ve shared all the products or similar at the bottom so you can get the look.
The khaki wedge lace up boots I’m wearing are old…they are from Zara but matched well with my khaki coat. As an alternative to boots I will definitely be wearing khaki caged heeled sandles with it like the Public Desire ones at the bottom as soon as the weather is warm enough to get toes out!
This is a Topshop coat and no joke I’ve had it maybe 10 years! It’s a classic style and thankfully khaki is big again this season so I could dig it out again. I love layering it over this look. I’ve listed a similar one below. I hope you like this casual look. If you prefer not to wear a heel for the day it looks equally as cool with sneakers and will look fab with sandles. Do you like the combination of contrasts I have used? It was good fun posing for my first set of pics…do I look bloggy? Haha!
