FASHION: Frayed Denim & Hearts

Last week I attended a networking event where I met loads of local women who had businesses in and around my local area. It was wonderful to be in a room with so many creative ladies who were all there with a few things in common. To talk about their passions, to inspire and to support one and other oh yes and we were all mothers.

Other than a handful of wonderful ladies who’s services I will be dipping into, I’ve held on to a few things that people said from the evening.

‘People will judge you whatever you do so you may as well do something you love’

It was great to be surrounded by passionate women united in our love of what we do. I think it’s so important to wake up every morning and love what you do…love your life and feed your soul.

I wore my favourite pair of frayed jeans. I will never get bored of frayed jeans…in fact I’m bored of normal jeans now.  If they haven’t got rips or some other kind of detail I’m just not interested. I’ve listed lots of my favourite jeans on my SHOP page.

I teamed them with this gorgeous stripe blouse with a frilled peplum. I always like to add something extra that you might not necessarily think to put together. Here I layered the look with this short sleeved lurex heart jumper from NEXT to add some detail.  I really believe in that quote that style is a way of saying who you are without speaking. I like my clothes to represent my personality so I like to be fun with my style where possible. I picked up the red accent in the top by adding a pair of red vintage ribbon tie shoes and my red Louis Vuitton Pomme d’amour bag.

I love versatility and I think this look could easily be teamed with a pair of sneakers to make it a more casual daytime look. More school run appropriate. Great for a day to night outfit.

I wore this to a cocktail networking event but think it’s a great outfit for a lunch date or dinner.

You can recreate the look below.
